Please note that the German health service differs substantially from the British and American health services, both in regard to its structure and organization and in the roles and responsibilities of its players. The German Medical Association gives a brief overview here.

 

HEALTH SERVICE INFRASTRUCTURE

 

Germany's largest teaching hospitals by case numbers are located in Berlin, Kiel, and Gießen. Munich has two teaching hospitals. A clickable list can be found here.

The largest teaching hospital by turnover, the Charité, is located in Berlin.
